Today, you will be working with new vocabulary and the textbook.

  1. Go to Edmodo.  Download the “family” vocabulary document and save it to your Test 2 folder.  Once you have saved it, then go ahead and translate all of the vocabulary.  Most of these words are a review from last year.
  2. For the rest of class, you will need to handwrite your answers.  You will only need your computers to look up a vocabulary word or two.
  3. Translate the talking bubbles on pages 58-59.
  4. complete page 60
    •   Part 1:  Answer in complete sentences.  The boys will answer one way; the girls will answer the other way.  Question 1 asks, “Are you the daughter or the son of your mother?”
    • Part 2: Fill in the blank… no sentences  Question 1 asks, “the son of my dad or of my mom” equals my _______.  The son of my dad would be my brother.  If you’re a boy, then the son of your dad could be you.
    • Part 3: Answer in complete sentences using the answers given.  Question 1: Does Juan have a sister?  Sí, Juan tiene una hermana.
    • Part 4: Answer in complete sentences.  These are rather easy, but be careful with the word “parientes,” because it is a false cognate.  The example says, “My mom and my dad are my parents.
  5. All the work for pages 58-60 should be placed in the basket on my desk.
  6. I looked at the quia.com gradebook, and it looks like most of you have done a great job.  If you haven’t finished everything or if you don’t like your grades, then you have until Monday to take care of those assignments.By the way, the “Ser practice quiz” on quia is now working.  Please complete that quiz.
